10-minutes:
Building your lifeprint: Time management
Why is it okay and often even necessary to learn how to (politely if possible) say "no?"
When you have invested the time and effort to become knowledgeable about, skilled at, and well-known for something, people often ask:
“Hey, can you do this for me? For YOU it would only take 10 minutes.”
But if you say “yes” to every "10-minute request” you will:
1. Be working for free all day.
2. Have no time to do your own work.
Someone reading the above might argue that saying yes to a few 10-minute requests only adds up to 30 or so minutes -- not all day.
However the reality is that 10-minute requests tend to balloon into all afternoon or even all-day projects.
The point (for those who may be missing it) is that if you are to achieve your dreams you will need to consciously choose to focus your time and energy on doing the tasks that lead to making your dreams become real. One of the main tools available to you to help you have enough time and energy is the word "no."
